Starship Adventure at Your Library 

This summer, enjoy Starship Adventure at the South Hadley Public Library. This program runs from Monday, June 22nd, through Saturday, August 1st. For more information see Meg Clancy, Youth Services Librarian, in the Youth Room, or call her at 413-538-5045.

Monday, June 22 6:00PM Mike the Boston “Bubble Guy” presents “Fun and Discovery with Bubbles."  Mike Dorval will bring his own brand of bubble fun to the library when he performs his bubbleology feats.
Thursday, June 25 3:00PM Bingo.  Children and teens will play eight games of bingo ranging from regular bingo to a “cover all” bingo.

Friday, July 10 10:00AM Martians Discover Plants – for kindergarten and first grade ONLY.  Pre-registration required.  Children will pretend to be Martians (wearing antennae) investigating Earth plants they have found in South Hadley.
Monday, July 13 6:00PM Creature Teachers present: “Hey Frogs! What Planet Are You From?”  All ages are invited to come see these unique amphibians and learn about their strange behaviors, dazzling colors and weird shapes.

Monday, August 3 6:30PM Skating Party @ Interskate91 North, Hampshire Mall.  Ticket required.  Participants of the summer reading program will earn a ticket to the annual skating party.  Thanks are extended to Bill Hoeffler who owns Interskate91 and graciously donates the rink to the library for this fun event.
Monday, August 17 To be announced Binocular Star Gaze – for ages 12 & older ONLY.  Pre-registration required.  Sign up and come join Doug Fleury, President of Caterpillar Catalyst, Inc. as he helps teens explore the night sky.

Thursdays, August 13th & 20th - Drop-in craft afternoons from 1:00PM to 3:00PMOn August 13th we’ll be making door knob hangers and on August 20th we’ll be making mobiles.  Drop in anytime between 1:00PM and 3:00PM to make and take home your craft.
 
Weekly Story Time on Thursday mornings at 10:30AM will continue throughout the summer with our guest readers from Plains Elementary School.  Every Thursday we’ll host a different reader from Plains Elementary School.  One week it may be a first grade teacher, another week it may be the principal.  Come every week to enjoy all our guest readers.
 
Watch for dates for our 4th annual Monarch butterfly releases later in the summer!  Come enjoy seeing the Monarch butterfly tagging process when we release dozens of butterflies for their annual trek to Mexico for the winter months.
