This project is partially funded by
a Planning & Design Grant from the Massachusetts Public Library Construction
Program. More information may be found on the Massachusetts Board of Library
Commissioners’ website a

was received from the Friend of the Library and the citizens of South
Hadley.
A library building program does not provide
a design, but a model of services and spaces that a design may be based
upon. I hope you share our vision of improved South Hadley Public Library
services provided in a sensible, sustainable, and accessible building.

Strategic Plan
The library conducted a two-month community survey
in the fall of 2007. Surveys were distributed at the library, town hall,
and senior center. The survey was also available online and residents
were encouraged to use this convenient method of responding. The library
received three hundred and fifty-seven responses (357) providing much
useful information on how the community uses the library, what our
perceived strengths are, and where there is room for improvement.
