South Hadley Public Library Suggested Websites

About this listing

These sites were selected based on frequently requested topics. This site is just the beginning, and often a search in Google will be a wonderful way to dive into a subject. Just be careful: not all the information found on the Internet is reputable. Unlike a book, which goes through the scrutiny of the publishing process, anyone can publish a website. See our Evaluating Websites links to find out how to determine whether information you find on the Internet is reputable. If you would like to suggest a site or need help conducting an Internet search, please contact us.

Massachusetts Acts and Resolves
The Acts and Resolves are the compilation of session laws and resolves passed by the legislature, and are published yearly. Laws of a general nature are then integrated into the Massachusetts General Laws by topic. Laws passed that relate to a specific group of people or place (i.e., not general in nature) are only published in the Acts and Resolves. The State Library of Massachusetts has digitized volumes from 1960 to 1996, and the full-text of these laws is now available for searching and viewing at http://archives.lib.state.ma.us:8080/dspace/handle/123456789/2. Session laws from 1997 to the present are online on the Massachusetts General Court’s website, http://www.mass.gov/legis.

The content of the website is written by people within the legal services community. The website is also available in Spanish.
